2018 Montana FCCLA Financial Fitness Mini-Grant Application
Montana FCCLA received a grant of $750 from the Montana Financial Education Coalition to expand chapter implementation of Financial Fitness projects. National FCCLA’s peer education program, Financial Fitness involves youth teaching one another how to earn, spend, save and protect money wisely. It was updated in 2016, and it offers an extensive curriculum for classroom and chapter use.
Montana FCCLA is offering 9 mini-grants of $75 each to FCCLA Chapters to implement a Financial Fitness project in your classroom and/or chapter. You may use the mini-grant money to either purchase the Financial Fitness curriculum (a $75 value) itself (to be owned by the chapter in perpetuity) OR to purchase resources to enhance the project if you already own the curriculum. Recipients of the mini-grant agree to plan and implement a Financial Fitness project (s) in their classroom or within the chapter, to document the project both written and photos, and then complete a project report by March 1. The reports will be evaluated, and a $75 prize will be awarded to the top chapter to recognize a successful Financial Fitness project at the State Leadership Conference. Please note – either the chapter adviser or a member could plan and implement the project.
Complete the online application by Monday, January 7 to be considered for the mini-grant. Recipients will be notified by Friday, January 11. (The deadline has been extended, so applicants may be selected on a first come, first serve basis during this second application period.)
