One of the eight purposes of FCCLA is as follows: “To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today’s society.” Therefore, an important part of the educational experiences provided by FCCLA includes developing an understanding of appropriate behavior and dress for business meetings and functions.

WHAT DO STUDENTS WEAR FOR COMPETITIVE EVENTS?
See STAR Events Policies section the National FCCLA Competitive Events Guide. Students should wear clothing appropriate to their event. This includes business casual clothing that portrays a professional image of FCCLA and the member. If wearing FCCLA polos, the Montana FCCLA policy may be followed which allows khaki pants (National FCCLA requires black slacks only).
CAN OUR CHAPTER POLO’S BE WORN TO STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE?
Yes, polo’s in your school colors may be worn as long as they have FCCLA emblem. Note: Chapter polo’s and khaki pants may not be worn to National FCCLA events. See the National FCCLA dress code.
WHAT SHOULD ADVISERS OR CHAPERONES WEAR TO STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE?
Follow the State Leadership Conference meetings dress code (polo’s/slacks) or business causal.
